This upstairs room of the 1796 original former slave quarters features a loft bedroom with angled ceilings and doorways. It has large dormer windows, a double-size four poster bed, working fireplace, and the inn's tiniest private bathroom with small shower stall.  The B&B rate for this room is $195 per night with optional four course prie-fixe dinner available most evenings at $49 per person.

This room was where the original twenty or so slaves slept on corn husk and straw filled mats on the floor with a tiny fireplace for heat in colder months.  The dormer windows extensions were added by the Overtons in the 1880's to accommodate additional guests, relatives and visitors from the city who came to Prospect Hill to escape the heat of  the city during summer.  Parents usually slept in the lower level and children in this level.
